A Bit about Me

travels to Spain

I have been keeping track of plans of all sizes as long as I can remember.

I’m one of those people who’s planner is COMPLETELY filled and scratched through. Lists made; lists completed. No judgement on the rest, I’m just describing how I work.

After getting married, my husband and I made a high priority of small trips at least once a year, often because of our own budget constraints. This priority continued as we had children.

Working into our small budget a little savings here and a little there to ensure we still experienced something as a family that was outside of our normal hustle+bustle.

Traveling to Orlando became our regular vacation destination, but I’ll admit it happened sort of by accident. We didn’t mean to become “Disney People,” but we did. I included one of my FAVORITE family pics of first meeting Mickey… it wasn’t magical for everyone, as you’ll see—haha!

I have experienced Disney and Orlando in about as many ways as you can. Crowded. Less crowded. Sunny. Rainy. Hot and super hot. Cooler and in holiday seasons. For special events. Staying on-site and off-site. Pre-COVID. During COVID. Post-COVID. All while on a very tight income. How? That’s what I love to figure out.

In addition to our Orlando travels to those trips various Caribbean locations, and I really have experienced a variety of family and couples vacations…

This is what I realized: I have a lot of experience and skill about traveling on a budget — and I want to help others with this refined skill!

So that’s how it all started for me and all of our Affordable Adventures.
